Admission Criteria
 

The M.Sc. thesis program in Rehabilitation Sciences is offered in either a full or part-time basis.

The appropriate foundation for graduate level entry to the Rehabilitation Science Masters Thesis program is:

  • Graduation from a 4-year (or equivalent) undergraduate health professional degree program or other relevant program (e.g. occupational therapy, physiotherapy, kinesiology, physiology) with a minimum of a B+ average in the final year of the program
Admission Process
 

The application to the program is a multi-staged process. The relevant Admissions Committee of the Rehabilitation Science Program will determine if:

  1.  The academic and clinical requirements have been met;
  2.  There is potential space in the program;
  3.  The research interests are appropriate;
  4.  There is an appropriate faculty member who is willing to supervise the student.

All completed applications are examined. Those that meet the general requirements of the Program are assessed by our Admissions Committee.  If the Admissions Committee approves the application, a recommendation is submitted to the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies (Health Sciences) for approval.  Successful candidates will receive a letter of offer from the Assistant Registrar of the School of Graduate Studies along with a letter from the Administrator, Graduate Studies.  All applicants are expected to respond within the specified time to the School of Graduate Studies when accepting or declining an offer.

Applicants who cannot be placed will receive notification from the Chair of the Admissions Committee.  Material sent to support an application cannot be returned.

Application Procedure
 
To apply to the M.Sc. Thesis program in Rehabilitation Science, you will need to complete the online application and submit the application fee.  You will also be required to send the following items in support of your application by the deadline.
  1. An official transcript of all university and post secondary experience
  2. Two academic references (available here)
  3. Two clinical or Workplace-related references (available here);
  4. An up-to-date curriculum vitae
  5. Research Interest Questionnaire (available here)
  6. If applicable, evidence of eligibility to be registered in your professional affiliation.
  7. Declaration of Employment (available in Word) or (available in PDF)
  8. If applicable, evidence of competency in English (i.e. TOEFL, MELAB, IELTS) (A minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 92 (580 on the paper-based TOEFL test or 237 on the computer-based TOEFL test) is required.)
