The PhD program will educate rehabilitation scientists who will become experts in rehabilitation science, advance rehabilitation research and transfer new knowledge into practice and policy. Graduates will be qualified to work as:

• scholars and researchers in educational, health care and government institutions
• advanced clinician-scientists in health care institutions
• researchers in industry
• expert consultants

Graduates will be able to:

• prepare research grants that are competitive for funding
• design and implement research to answer questions relevant to rehabilitation science
• publish and present findings of research in peer-reviewed venues
• prepare and implement effective teaching/learning strategies in their area of expertise
• supervise graduate students in their field of research
• “translate” research findings for different consumers (clinicians, clients, students)
