Educational/Professional

This sub-theme reflects the interests of SRS faculty in educational research: reliability and validity of the student selection process; learner characteristics (e.g. clinical reasoning, moral judgement, attitudes); teaching and learning methods (e.g. problem-based learning, self-directed learning, inter and intra-professional learning, ethics education); educational outcomes (e.g. individual student learner outcomes, course and faculty evaluations, feedback from alumni/exit surveys, and overall program evaluation); professional socialization; faculty characteristics, training, and professional development. The faculty are committed to evidence-based decision-making which means that the results of educational research projects are used to inform admissions policy and procedures, curriculum design and delivery, student evaluation and performance assessment, and faculty evaluation.
